January Polar Bear Jump Off 3rd weekend in January
The year starts off with the Polar Bear Jump Off when costumed participants dive into
Resurrection Bay on the 3rd Saturday in January. These folks aren't crazy, they have raised
money for The Alaska Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Although Seward appears to be a sleepy town on the shores of Resurrection Bay, there is
always something happening or about to happen.
Holiday Train Usually the 1st Saturday in December, ride the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage
to Seward for an old fashioned celebration.
Seward Harbor Opening Weekend 3rd Weekend in May
Celebrate the traditional start of the Seward Boating Season with events all over the area.
Boat tours, open house aboard the USCG Cutter Mustang, boat parade & Blessing of the Fleet.
